How is Colon Hydrotherapy Administered?
A disposable speculum is gently inserted into the rectum which allows it to introduce warm filtered water into the colon. Water flow is always under direct control of the practitioner. As water enters the colon, it causes a feeling of fullness for a short amount of time, followed by a feeling of release as the colon is emptied. The speculum allows for the safe entrance of water via a small water tube and release of waste and toxins through the evacuation tube. As the water flows out of the colon, the practitioner gently massages the abdomen to help the colon release its contents. It is possible to see the expelled waste matter when it passes through a special viewing window in the evacuation tube. This process is repeated several times and generally takes 30 to 45 minutes.
